# Mass Text Messages

> Send bulk SMS messages to your event contacts

## Sending Mass Texts

<Steps>
  <Step title="Custom phone number (optional)">
    By default, texts go out from **PeerPop’s shared sending number**. That is fine for most organizers.

    If you add a **custom phone number**, messages can come from **your own line** so the sender ID matches your brand. You manage numbers in **[Account Settings](/profile/account-settings)**. Many teams see **better recognition** and **stronger delivery** with a dedicated number.

  <Step title="Select Recipients">
    Choose who receives the message:

    * Select individual recipients with checkboxes
    * Use header checkbox to select all
    * View selected count

    Click the **Mass Text** button to compose your message.

        Automatically send 12 hours before event

        Automatically send 7 days before event start
      </Tab>

  <Step title="Compose Message">
    Customize your text:

        * Include signature (ex: "From, \[username]")
        * Include event link

        * Enter message (160 chars per text)
        * Messages longer than 160 characters use multiple texts but will be sent as a single message to the recipient
        * Generate with AI assistant
      </Accordion>
