With a custom phone number, your text messages can go out from your number instead of PeerPop’s default. Recipients see a consistent, recognizable sender—your brand—not a generic short code or shared line.

Why use a custom number

  • Brand recognition — Your audience sees the same caller ID every time.
  • Trust and reply behavior — Familiar numbers often get better engagement than unknown senders.
  • Delivery — Carriers expect brand and campaign registration for dedicated numbers; completing that flow helps your messages pass network validation.

Plan requirement

Custom phone numbers require at least the Essentials plan. You’ll confirm or upgrade your plan during setup under Subscriptions.

Setup: register your number

Carriers use your business details to validate who is sending SMS on your behalf. Follow these steps in PeerPop:
1

Open Account Settings

Sign in and go to Account Settings (from your profile or app menu).
2

Open Subscriptions

In Account Settings, open the Subscriptions section. This is where you see your current plan and billing.
3

Subscribe (Essentials or higher)

If you are not already on Essentials (or a plan that includes custom SMS numbers), subscribe or upgrade so your account qualifies. Custom number registration is only available once you meet the minimum plan.
4

Manage registration

From Subscriptions, click Manage registration (or equivalent wording in the product). This starts the carrier brand registration flow for your sending number.
5

Choose a number

Pick the phone number you want to send from. Available options depend on inventory and your region; select the number you intend to use for campaigns and mass texts.
6

Enter your business information

Complete the business and brand fields the form asks for. Mobile networks use this data to verify your identity and your right to send messages as that brand—accuracy matters for approval.
7

Submit and wait for approval

Submit the registration. Approval is not instant: carriers review submissions on their own timeline. You’ll get a clear status in PeerPop when the registration is approved, rejected, or needs changes. Wait for approval before relying on this number for large or time-sensitive sends.

After you’re approved

When registration is approved, your custom number is tied to your account. Use it when you send mass texts from an event’s contacts or SMS campaigns under Marketing—the compose or setup screen will let you choose this sender when it’s active. If you do not complete registration or approval is still pending, PeerPop continues to send from the default number for your account.

Compliance and best practices

  • Use only numbers and brands you are authorized to represent; follow opt-in rules for your audience.
  • Keep legal business name, address, and contact details consistent with what you submit to carriers.
  • Test with a small group after approval to confirm the sender ID appears correctly on recipient devices.
